STVPS Elementary and High School Basketball Teams had their first encounter in the hard court with pupils of Holy Family Parochial School and students of Escuela Catolica de San Sebastian last August 7, 2014 at Bo. Kapitolyo Mini Amphi Theater.

Coach Mr. Joel Yacap, Assistant Coach Mr. Rafael Rojo and School Nurse Mr. Eleazar Pada brought first the elementary pupils to play with the pupils of Holy Family Parochial School.  The boys tried their best to advance their scores through outside shooting and three point shots but were unsuccessful.  The game ended with 40-49 in favor of the Holy Family Parochial School team.

Meanwhile, the high school team was hopeful to triumph over their equally talented opponent from Escuela Catolica de San Sebastian.   The first half was really a struggle as the players tried to adjust their set plays and to establish their communications inside the hard court.  However, with the insistence of the coach to faithfully execute the plays added the inspiration of the other players, the boys redeemed their confidence and gained their momentum.  The score moved further away courtesy of several successful 3 points shots, interceptions, and drives.  John Dell Villarente, Angelo Barabad and Amiel Joseph Pineda were among those who made remarkable contributions in the game.  The game ended at 42 – 71 in favor of STVPS.

Though exhausted, the boys were happy with their experience and promised to practice more for the next game.
