postheadericon STVPS joined the Nationwide Earthquake Drill 2016

By : Yumiko D. Uchida

Earthquake drill is training people on what to do before, during and after earthquake.  While the bell is still ringing, everyone were asked to do the “duck, cover and hold” after which they will proceed to their designated evacuation area. Nationwide Earthquake Drill happened last June 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. wherein offices, schools, establishments, and people in their own houses were encouraged to join. The Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parochial School’s community joined without haste the nationwide simultaneous exercise.
But before the said Nationwide Earthquake Drill, STVPS conducted a mock drill last June 17, 2016 in the school as a refresher. Students were asked to bring their Grab Kit that contains biscuits, first aid kit, candies, flashlight, whistle, water, and a rug or a book to cover their head.
It is important that everyone is aware and knowledgeable on what to do during this kind of disaster.  But aside from all these preparation activities, prayer is still one of the best ways to prevent massive destruction to the lives of the people.
