No less than the Bishop of Pasig, Bishop Mylo Hubert C. Vergara gave a solemn and meaningful diocese-wide Lenten Recollection at Sta. postheadericon STVPS Junior-Senior Prom (February 11, 2012)… A Magical Night to remember…

Attending prom is often a rite of passage for juniors and seniors in high school. Students anticipate prom all year long, and it rewards them for their hard work. Prom also carries an element of exclusiveness that furthers the excitement surrounding this special event. Prom--and all of the work that goes into putting it together--provides numerous benefits for high school students.

After an hour of getting ready for the big night, students arrived at prom. At 6 p.m., hairstyles are arranged and neckties are tied, to let the festivities begin. The STVPS lobby begins to fill with beautiful young people, excited for their evening of fun. Proud teachers gush over their handsome and beautiful students. Overly stimulated parents dash back and forth admiring the exotic creatures of their sons and daughters that look sort of like movie stars.

Couples and groups of friends line up around the quadrangle for a scene reminiscent of Hollywood’s red carpet promenades for the grand entrance. The "stars" of the night enter the building slowly as the camera flashes light up slowly revealing the magic of the night. The music had just started and everyone was already ready to get their groove on. They headed out to the dance floor with their partners/dates.

After the promenade, the students enter the prom for the long awaited highlight of their evening, a final chance to delight in each other’s company before they spread out to futures all over the world. Everyone basks in the warm glow of a good time, having made a memory unique to experience and to cherish by all for years to come, High School junior-senior prom at the Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parochial School.
